Virginia Competes in Weekend Matches

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Both the Virginia men’s and women’s squash teams will compete in three matches over the weekend (Dec. 2-3) in Ithaca, N.Y., at Cornell’s Belkin Squash Courts.
The No. 13 Cavalier women (3-2) will face No. 7 Columbia (3-0), No. 8 Cornell (2-0) and No. 23 St. Lawrence (0-0). The No. 17 Virginia men’s team (3-3) will compete against No. 4 Columbia (3-0), No. 12 Cornell (2-1) and No. 26 Hobart (5-2), according to the latest rankings from the College Squash Association.

Virginia will open the weekend on Saturday with both teams facing Columbia at 2 p.m. and Cornell at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the men’s team will compete against Hobart at 11 a.m., while the women’s team will play St. Lawrence at 11:15 a.m.
Virginia enters the weekend after dropping matches to George Washington on Tuesday (Nov. 28). The women’s team fell to the No. 12 Colonials, 5-4, while the men’s team lost to No. 11 George Washington, 6-3.
The Cavaliers last met Hobart in 2015 with Virginia capturing the match 6-3. This will be the first meeting for Virginia against Columbia, Cornell and St. Lawrence.
