“We are excited to get the 2018 season underway,” head coach Julie Myers said. “We will play one of the toughest regular-season schedules in country by facing 13 NCAA tournament teams, including all four Final Four teams, during our 17-game regular season. We will look to our fourth year leadership to set the tone and to our roster of 34 to compete at the highest level where winning the Atlantic Coast Conference and a NCAA Championship remains our target.”
UVA will open the season with two home games. The Cavaliers host Elon on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Klöckner Stadium to begin the season and Richmond on Wednesday, Feb. 21. UVA’s home slate also includes William & Mary (Feb. 28), Syracuse (March 4), North Carolina (March 10), James Madison (March 21), Canisius College (March 28), Boston College (March 31) and Penn State (April 7).
Virginia will travel to play Princeton (Feb. 24), Loyola (March 14), Notre Dame (March 17), Duke (March 24), Maryland (April 4), Navy (April 11), Louisville (April 14) and Virginia Tech (April 21).
The 2018 ACC Championship will be hosted by Duke in Durham, N.C., April 26-29.
The broadcast selections for the Virginia women’s lacrosse team will be released and posted to VirginiaSports.com once they are determined by the Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners.
Last season, Virginia advanced to the NCAA Second Round as one of the final 16 teams. The Cavaliers extended their streak to 22 tournament appearances under Myers, who also won her 300th career game in 2017.
The Virginia women’s lacrosse team enters its 23rd season under head coach Julie Myers. The Cavaliers return seven starters, including All-Americans Maggie Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) and Kasey Behr (North Port, N.Y.). Jackson led UVA with 74 points in her sophomore campaign. Jackson was the only player in the ACC to lead her team in points, draw controls, ground balls and caused turnovers. Behr finished with 33 goals in 2017 and added 39 draw controls, 34 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
