CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia (3-7) wrestling team steps out of conference action on Sunday afternoon to face Old Dominion (7-5) in a 1 p.m. dual match at the Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, Va.

It’s the final non-conference dual meet of the season for the Cavaliers.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers have a pair of wrestlers in the national rankings heading into the weekend, according to InterMat Wrestling. Redshirt freshman Louie Hayes (Orland Park, Ill.) is ranked No. 16 at 125 pounds, while sophomore and returning All-American Jack Mueller (Dallas, Texas) is No. 6 at 133 pounds.

A LOOK AT OLD DOMINION
The Monarchs enter the Sunday afternoon dual meet with an overall record of 7-5 and are coming off a win over American in the last outing. Old Dominion won that dual 27-10 at home. The Monarchs have wrestled three opponents in common with the Cavaliers: NC State, Missouri and Iowa State. Old Dominion dropped all three of those duals and also dropped duals with Northwestern and Virginia Tech.

UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS
The Cavaliers will return to action next weekend, continuing to wrestle on the road with an ACC matchup against Duke. Virginia and the Blue Devils will face off at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 3).
