CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Seven members of the Virginia men’s and women’s squash teams will compete in the College Squash Association Individual Championships this weekend (March 2-4) at Squash on Fire in Washington D.C.
Freshman William Braff (Locust Valley, N.Y.), junior Grayson Bubrosky (New Canaan, Conn.) and junior Jarett Odrich (Greenwich, Conn.) will compete in the Molloy Cup, the B Division of the men’s individual championships. Sophomore Tara Arya (Cupertino, Calif.), senior Carey Danforth (Greenwich, Conn.), junior Annie Tyson (Flourtown, Pa.) and freshman Emily Woodworth (Weston, Mass) will compete in the Holleran Cup, the B Division of the women’s individual championships.

In the Molloy Cup, Odrich (8-8) and Braff (7-5) will open play on Friday at 9 a.m. Odrich will face Harvard’s Julien Gosset, while Braff will compete against Pennsylvania’s David Yacobuci. Braff finished the season as the No. 2 in Virginia’s ladder, while Odrich finished the season competing in the No. 3 position.
Bubrosky (8-8) will compete against Dartmouth’s Carson Spahr at 11 a.m. Bubrosky finished the year as the No. 4 player for UVA.
In the women’s competition, Tyson (12-6) will open the tournament against Franklin & Marshall’s Sherilyn Yang at 9:40 a.m. She finished the season as the No. 6 position for Virginia.
Danforth (9-8) and Woodworth (6-11) capped the season as the top two players, respectively, in the Cavaliers’ ladder. Danforth will compete against Columbia’s Jui Kaigutkar, while Woodworth will play Princeton’s Emme Leonard. Both matches will begin at 12:20 p.m.
Virginia’s No. 4 Arya (6-11) will play Bates’ Luca Polgar at 1 p.m.
Both the men’s and women’s CSA Individual Championships are divided into two divisions. The top 16 male student-athletes will compete for the Pool Trophy, while the top 16 female student-athletes will compete in the Ramsay Cup. The Molloy Cup and the Holleran Cup will feature players ranked 17th-80th in a North, South, East and West draw.
