Washington D.C. –Members of the Virginia men’s and women’s squash teams concluded day two of the College Squash Association Individual Championships on Saturday (March 3) at Squash on Fire in Washington D.C. Junior Grayson Bubrosky (New Canaan, Conn.) and senior Carey Danforth (Greenwich, Conn) recorded wins in the consolation semifinals to advance to tomorrow’s consolation finals.

“Grayson played great squash yesterday and followed up with an even better performance today, in a highly entertaining match played with great skill and sportsmanship by both players,” head coach Mark Allen said. “Carey delayed the end if her college squash career by one more day with another good win. I don’t think she wants the season to end. She did well tactically to contain and ultimately frustrate a very talented player into a series of mistakes in the closing stages of both the third and fourth games.”

Bubrosky defeated Nathaniel Fry from Drexel to earn a spot in tomorrow’s Molloy Cup consolation finals. Bubrosky recorded a score of 11-8, 12-10, 11-13, 11-7 for the win.

In the Holleran Cup, Danforth won against Bates’ Victoria Arjoon. She captured a score of 11-5, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6 to advance in the tournament.

Freshman William Braff (Locust Valley, N.Y.) fell in his match against Navy’s Jonathan Lentz 11-5, 12-10, 11-9, while junior Jarett Odrich (Greenwich, Conn.) withdrew from a match against Amherst’s Terrence Wang.

Bubrosky and Danforth will compete in the consolation finals tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. at Squash on Fire.
