CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia rowing team opens the 2018 spring season on Saturday-Sunday (March 17-18) at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The two-day event will feature morning and afternoon racing on Saturday as well as morning racing on Sunday. Racing on the 2,000-meter course at the Melton Lake Rowing Venue is slated to begin at 9:14 a.m., ET each day, while Saturday’s afternoon session is slated to begin at 3:10 p.m.

Real-time results for the event will be provided through the Louisville rowing twitter account (@UofLRowing), while final results at the end of each day will be published on Row2K.com and VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers will have six crews competing in three sessions over the two days. On Saturday morning, UVA boats will race against Michigan State, Miami, Tennessee and Yale. On Saturday afternoon, the Cavaliers will race Miami, Notre Dame and Tulsa. On Sunday, Virginia will compete against Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Yale. UVA won 14 of 18 races during the two-day event to start the 2017 season.
