CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Varsity Four was named the inaugural 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week Tuesday (March 20) after winning all three of its races at Oak Ridge Invite last weekend at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The Cavaliers recorded a time of 6:48.293, in defeating crews from Yale, Michigan State and Miami. Virginia’s V4 then posted a time of 7:07.756 in defeating Miami, Tulsa and Notre Dame. Finally, on Sunday, UVA First Varsity Four recorded its best time of the weekend, a 6:43.615 clocking to defeat Michigan, Tennessee and Michigan State.

The 3-0 record for the regatta led Virginia to 12 wins in 17 races.

The Virginia First Varsity Four is composed of coxswain Colette Glass (Tampa, Florida), stroke Jamey Bulloch (Johannesburg, South Africa), three-seat Georgia Gray (Seattle, Washington), two-seat Martine van den Boomgaard (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and bow Carrie Warner (East London, South Africa).

The Cavaliers return to action with an exhibition regatta against Duke on Saturday (March 24) in Durham, N.C.
