CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers are in the top 25 of the team rankings for the third week this season. Virginia is ranked No. 21 in the latest Oracle/ITA Women’s Tennis rankings. Virginia is coming off a road sweep in ACC action with wins last weekend at No. 49 Louisville and Notre Dame. It was the first time for the Cavaliers to win a pair of ACC road matches in the same weekend since the 2015 season.

Virginia features a doubles team in the national rankings as the pairing of Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) and Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) is ranked No. 12 in the ITA Women’s Doubles rankings. In singles, the Cavaliers also have one player make an appearance with Johanson ranked No. 74 nationally.

A LOOK AT MIAMI
The Miami Hurricanes enter the weekend matchup having won four of the last five matches played. Miami split action last weekend, falling in its only ACC match, 4-3, at No. 1 North Carolina. The Hurricanes then defeated No. 46 NC State 5-2. Miami also has posted wins over No. 6 Georgia Tech and No. 16 Florida State in that stretch. Miami has two players ranked in the ITA singles rankings with Estela Perez-Somarriba coming it at No. 9 and Sinead Lohan at No. 71. Perez-Somarriba is also part of two doubles pairings in the rankings for the Hurricanes, with the highest a No. 38 pairing with Ana Madcur.

A LOOK AT PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh enters the weekend with a Friday match at Virginia Tech and the Panthers have dropped four of the last five matches played. The Panthers defeated Morgan State two weeks ago, but then lost to No. 16 Wake Forest last weekend at home upon returning to ACC play. Pittsburgh does not have any players in the ITA singles or doubles rankings.
