Cavaliers Move up to Third at LSU Tiger Classic

Baton Rouge, La. – The 25th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team moved up to third place following the second round of play at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. The Cavaliers shot 18-over 306 and have a two-day total of 43-over 619. No. 26 Houston leads the 12-team field at 602.

Junior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) led UVA on Saturday by shooting 1-over 73. She improved to seventh place at 7-over 151. Freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) is in 14th place at 11-over 155. She posted a second-round score of 77.

Junior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) both shot 78 during the second round. Gonzales is in 18th place at 156 while Ford is one shot behind her in 24th place. Junior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) is in 40th place at 161 after shooting 79.

Senior Maho Hayakawa (St. Mary’s, Fla.), who is competing as an individual, is in 52nd place at 163. She had a second-round score of 83.

The field will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday using a shotgun start for the final round. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
