Virginia Places 11th at Bryan National Collegiate

Browns Summit, N.C. – The No. 26 Virginia women’s golf team finished 11th at the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summit, N.C. The Cavaliers shot 316 during Saturday’s final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 921. Wake Forest won the tournament at 888.
UVA was led by junior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.), who placed 29th at 11-over 227. She posted a final-round score of 5-over 77. Her finish marked the first time this season Gonzales has led UVA in scoring.
Junior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) also shot 77 on Saturday and finished two strokes behind Gonzales in 37th place.
Junior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) and freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) both posted third-round scores of 81. Redding was 47th overall at 232 while Lillie was 53rd at 233.
Sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) shot 86 in the final round and ended the tournament in 89th place at 249.
UVA has two additional players in the field competing as individuals. Junior Ju Hee Bae (Chantilly, Va.) finished 44th at 234 while sophomore Kate Harper (Isle of Palms, S.C.) was 91st at 252. Bae’s final round 76 was the best result of any UVA competitor during the final round. Her finish was the best of her career.
Virginia heads into postseason competition April 21 when the Cavaliers compete at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
