Three updates this morning for former Cavaliers. First up, congratulations to #UVAMSOC’s Ryan Zinkhan who has been named an assistant coach at Oregon State. Zinkhan, a 2014 UVA graduate, spent last season as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Mary Washington. He joins former Cavalier associate head coach Terry Boss’ staff at OSU. Boss was named the Beavers’ men’s soccer head coach in December.

Congratulations to @UVAFB’s Thomas Jones who was officially inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday evening. Jones finished his career as the Cavaliers’ all-time leading rusher with 3,998, surpassing Tiki Barber’s total of 3,389 yards. Jones’ senior year in 1999, was one of the best in ACC history.  Jones set a then ACC and still current school record for single season rushing with 1,798 yards, while amassing 2,054 yards of total offense. Jones finished his senior year as a consensus first-team All-American, and finished eighth in the 1999 Heisman Trophy voting.

Saturday morning was #UVAFB’s annual Alumni Day with a room full of Cavaliers gathered for breakfast and then Q&A’s with head coach Bronco Mendenhall and Virginia director of athletics Carla Williams. Check out the photo gallery from the event.
