UVA Wraps Up Regular Season at Yale Spring Invitational

Charlottesville, Va. – The 48th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team wraps up its regular season Saturday at the one-day Yale Spring Invitational. The 16-team event will be contested at par-70 The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn.
The field for Saturday’s event includes Yale, Brown, Bucknell, Central Connecticut, Colgate, Cornell, Fairfield, Fordham, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Pennsylvania, Siena, St. John’s and Tennessee. Play begins off the first and 10th tees at 7:20 a.m.
UVA’s lineup includes senior Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.), junior Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.), sophomores Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) and Ashton Poole (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.).
Walsh leads UVA with a 70.96 stroke average and is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Gary Koch Invitational in UVA’s last tournament. He has been UVA’s top finisher in six of the team’s last seven tournaments.
