New Haven, Conn. – The No. 48 Virginia men’s golf team finished third at the Yale Spring Invitational, the Cavaliers’ final tournament of the regular season. UVA posted rounds of 293 and 294 on the par-70 The Course at Yale to finish at 27-over 587. Tennessee took top honors at 565 while Yale was second at 576.

Senior Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.) led UVA with a sixth-place finish, the 12th top-10 performance of his career. He shot rounds of 70 and 74 for a total of 4-over 144. Junior Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) was one shot behind Walker in seventh place. He had rounds of 72 and 73 to post the 11th top-10 of his career.

UVA freshman Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.) was 15th at 147. He posted rounds of 75 and 72. Sophomore Ashton Poole (Charlotte, N.C.) was 39th at 151. He shot 76 and 75. Sophomore Andrew Orischak was 60th at 156. He turned in back-to-back scores of 78.

Virginia plays in the ACC Championships next weekend in New London, N.C. The three-day tournament runs Friday through Sunday at the Old North State Club.
