Hoos Reunion
Former #UVASB players Katie Park and Madison Labshere caught up with teammate Kinza Baad during the Cavaliers’ weekend trip to Pittsburgh. Baad has spent the past year working with the Pirates organization and showed her former teammates around PNC Park on Friday.
WINA
Congratulations to 1070 AM & 98.9 FM WINA, flagship station for Cavalier athletics, on picking up 14 awards for its coverage of news, sports and community issues at the Virginia Associated Press Broadcaster awards. A special congratulations to two voices very familiar to Hoos sports fans, Jay James and Luke Neer, on earning individual accolades. Jay is a member of the football broadcast team while Luke is the play-by-play voice of women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse (as well as calling numerous sports for ACC Network Extra broadcasts)Â as well as serving as the host of the weekly Inside Virginia Women’s Basketball program.
