2018 NFCA All-Region Teams

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia outfielder Allison Davis (Oak Hill, Va.) was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-Region on Thursday (May 17).

The award is the second of the season for the veteran, who was named Second Team All-ACC last week. It is the first time Davis has earned All-Region recognition.

The senior led the Cavaliers with her .365 average at the plate. Davis also launched a career-high 11 home runs to lead the team. In early March, she homered in five consecutive games, becoming the first Virginia player to ever accomplish the feat.

Davis scored 43 runs and drove in another 40 to become the first Cavalier since 2003 to eclipse 40 in each category. She finished her career ranked fourth in home runs (29), fourth in slugging (.563), fourth in runs scored (163), fifth in batting average (.330) and sixth in both hits (217) and runs batted in (111).

The selection gives Virginia an All-Region performer in each of the last two years. Katie Park earned first team honors in 2017 to become the first Cavalier selected since 2013.
