Hoos Got Trophies, Part V
Yes, for the fifth-straight week, we get to start the blog week off with a trophy tally. And what a tally it is! Former #UVAMTEN players Alexander Ritschard and Collin Altamirano both won titles this week. Ritschard has become a mainstay of this feature as he won this third-straight Futures singles title, all in Sweden. This week’s run to the championship in Lund extends Ritschard’s win streak to 15-straight matches.
Altamirano swept the titles in Singapore this week, winning both the singles and doubles crowns. It was Altamirano’s second singles title of the year and his third doubles title of his career.
The bad news is that this is an offweek for all of the tennis players, so another sport is going to need to step it up this week to keep the Cavalier championship streak afloat. How about it, London Perrantes? You up for the challenge? Perrantes’ Cleveland Cavaliers are in the NBA Finals, taking on the Golden State Warriors. Perrantes is not on the postseason roster, but has played in 14 games for the Cavaliers this season, so we’ll count it if it happens.
