#TeamSerena

As we have previously mentioned here on the blog, former #UVAMTEN All-American @JarmereJenkins is the hitting partner for Serena Williams (read a great piece from Whitelaw Reid on that right here). Jenkins is at Roland Garros this week as part of #TeamSerena as the tennis star plays in her first Grand Slam since the birth of her daughter. Jenkins has also been featured in the five-part HBO Sports documentary Being Serena (with a prominent role in episode two). The show airs its final episode tonight on the network, but all of the episodes are available to watch On Demand and on HBOGo.

Rowing Off Into the Sunset

#UVAROW boatman Roger Payne is retiring after nearly 50 years in collegiate rowing, including the last 14 as coach Kevin Sauer’s right-hand man for the Cavaliers. Payne was recently honored for his service at the 2018 NCAA Rowing Championships. Row2k takes a look at his service to the sport in this piece.
