CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Two current members of the Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams and two former student-athlete will represent the Cavaliers at USA Track & Field competitions this month. The three-day USATF Junior Outdoor Championships will begin Friday (June 15) at the Hayes Track at the Haugh Complex in Bloomington, Ind., while the USATF Outdoor Championships will start June 21 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Freshmen Brittany Jones (Bloomfield, Conn.) and Khyasia Caldwell-Adams (Pocono Summit, Pa.) will participate in the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships. Caldwell-Adams will compete in the long jump on Saturday. She qualified for the event with a jump of 6.12m (20’1″) and will compete in a field of 18 competitors. Jones will compete in the shot put on Sunday in a field of 11 competitors. She enters with a seeded mark of 15.69m (51’5.75).

Former Cavaliers Henry Wynne (class of 2017) and Jordan Lavender (class of 2015) will race in the 1500m run and 400m dash, respectively, at the USATF Outdoor Championships next week. Wynne will race in the first round of competition on Thursday, entering the meet with a time of 3:55.23. Advancing athletes will race in the finals of the 1500m on Saturday. Lavender will compete in the first round of the 400m dash on Thursday, holding a seeded time of 52.16. Semifinals for the 400m dash will be on Friday with the finals racing on Saturday.
