GREENSBORO, N.C.– Virginia placed eight student-athletes on the All-ACC Academic Rowing team, the league announced Thursday (June 28).
 
Representing UVA on the All-ACC Academic team were seniors Adi Hendlin (Tallahassee, Fla.), Jane Hudson (Sandy, Utah), Morgan Rosts (Jordan, Ontario) and Ali Zwicker (Victoria, British Columbia), juniors Heidi Long (Buckinghamshire, England) and Izzi Weiss (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomores Sophie Pennoyer (Hartford, Conn.) and Lizzie Trull (Wellesley, Mass.).
 
Hudson, Long, Pennoyer, Weiss and Zwicker rowed on the ACC champion Varsity Eight, which finished seventh at the NCAA Championships. Hendlin and Rosts were part of the ACC champion Second Varsity Eight and bronze-medal winning crew at the NCAA Championships. Trull was the stroke of the ACC champion Varsity Four that was named ACC Crew of the Year. 
 
Hudson and Long were also named to the All-ACC Academic team in 2017. Hendlin, Hudson, Pennoyer and Trull were recently honored at CRCA National Scholar-Athletes.
 
The eight student-athletes on the All-ACC Academic team were Virginia’s most since placing eight on the 2008 team.
 
To be nominated for the All-ACC Academic team, student-athletes must have recorded a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in the winter semester and have maintained a 3.0 career GPA at their respective schools. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Rowing Academic team.
