Former UVA Golfer Brad Tilley Advances at U.S. Amateur
Pebble Beach, CA – Former UVA men’s golfer Brad Tilley finished the stroke play portion of the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship tied for 46th place and advanced to the match-play portion of the tournament. UVA junior Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) missed the cut, finishing his 36 holes of stroke play at 9-over 152. Orischak shot 4-over 76 during his Tuesday round at Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif.
Tilley shot 1-over 73 at Spyglass Hill for a two-day total of 3-over 146 to be one of 64 players to move into match play. Tilley will face Akshay Bhatia at 1:50 p.m. PT in the first round of match play.
Tilley graduated from UVA in 2006. He earned All-ACC honors as a junior in 2005.
