CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball will play host to James Madison in Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday (Aug. 18) at 2 p.m. in the Cavaliers’ lone exhibition match of the season.

The Cavaliers enter their second season under head coach Aaron Smith with a roster consisting of 10 players who earned time in 2017. Along with Novakovic, the Cavaliers also welcome back the second and third-leading scorers from the 2017 squad in sophomores Alex Spencer (North Canton, Ohio) and Sarah Billiard (Matthews, N.C.).

A talented group of four newcomers consists of outside hitters Christine Jarman (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Grace Turner (Cincinnati, Ohio) along with middle blocker Milla Ciprian (St. John’s, Fla.) and defensive specialist Kristen Leland (Dallas, Texas). Jarman is a transfer from Alabama where she racked up 249 kills and 189 digs for the Crimson Tide. The remaining three newcomers are all freshmen.

Prior to Saturday’s match, the Cavaliers will host a volleyball clinic from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The clinic is open to all youth eighth-grade and younger of any skill level.
