Charlottesville, Va. – The No. 9 Virginia women’s golf team wraps up its fall season this weekend at the Battle at the Beach at the Club Campestre San Jose Golf Club in San Lucas, Mexico. The tournament is hosted by Baylor.
 
The event, on the par-71, 6,202-yard course, begins with a 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s play starts at 8:15 a.m. CT, also with a shotgun start.
 
In addition to host No. 21 Baylor and the Cavaliers, the 17-team field includes No. 22 Auburn, No. 23 Clemson, Denver, Houston, Iowa, Mississippi State, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, No. 2 Texas, TCU, Tulane Tulsa, UAB and No. 5 Vanderbilt.
 
Virginia’s lineup for this year’s tournament features seniors Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas), Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), plus junior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.).
 
Redding leads UVA with a 71.33 stroke average and is ranked No. 22 by Golfstat. Lillie is ranked No. 34 with a 72.33 stroke average and Patrick comes in No. 52 in the Golfstat standings with an average score of 72.89.
 
Last year the Cavaliers finished fourth in the 14-team field at 13-over 865. Redding turned in UVA’s top performance, finishing 18th at 3-over 216. Ford was 22nd at 217, her lowest tournament score as a collegiate. Gonzales and Lillie tied for 26th at 218 and Patrick was 38th at 220.
