CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The No. 12 Virginia women’s squash team (3-1) fell 9-0 on Sunday (Nov. 11) to No. 3 Princeton (1-0) at the McArthur Squash Center.

“We played significantly better than we did against them (Princeton) last season,” head coach Mark Allen said. “Though the score line was the same, the matches themselves were very well contested and we can feel pleased with the improvement that has been made since January 2018.”

Two Virginia players forced a game into a tie-break. Freshman Emma Jinks (Stratford, Canada) forced a tie-break game in the third set of her match against Hiu Lam Lui, falling at the top position 11-9, 11-7, 12-10.

Junior Annie Tyson (Flourtown, Pa.) also forced a tie-break in her matchup at position six against Morgan Steelman. Tyson dropped the match 12-10, 11-5, 11-7.

Virginia will return to action Saturday (Nov. 17). The team will face No. 9 Drexel and No. 4 Stanford in Philadelphia, Pa.
