El Paso, Texas – Virginia senior men’s golfer Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) tied for 14th place at the Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas. Walsh shot 1-under 70 during Tuesday’s final round for a 54-hole total of 4-under 209. A total of 29 players competed in this year’s event. 
 
Oklahoma’s Quade Cummins won a one-hole playoff to take home the Lee Trevino Trophy as the event’s medalist. He finished at 13-under 200, including a final-round score of 9-under 62.
 
The invitational only tournament has featured some of golf’s brightest stars have traveled to El Paso to compete since its inaugural year in 1974. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler are just a handful of past participants who went on to have successful PGA careers. Sun Bowl All-America Golf Classic Alumni have combined to win 54 major championships and have earned over $2.12 billion in career earnings.
