CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s lacrosse team released its 2019 schedule on Friday (Nov. 30) that will feature nine home games and 11 opponents that participated in the 2018 NCAA Championships.

“We are excited for the upcoming season that will include a lot of great competition,” head coach Julie Myers said. “We will have 11 of our 17 regular season games against NCAA postseason teams. We welcome six of those teams to Charlottesville and are excited to play against all four of the Final Four teams over the course of the season. It will be a great test for us as we take on a tough ACC slate as usual and look to compete in the postseason.”
Virginia will open the season at home against Navy on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavaliers will be on the road for five of their next seven games before closing out the second half of the season with six of its last eight games at home.
Along with Navy, UVA will host Princeton (Feb. 23), George Mason (March 6), Loyola (March 13), Notre Dame (March 16), Duke (March 23), Maryland (April 3), Louisville (April 13) and Virginia Tech (April 20).
 The Cavaliers road slate features Elon (Feb. 16), Richmond (Feb. 20), William & Mary (Feb. 27), Syracuse (March 2), North Carolina (March 9), James Madison (March 20) and Penn State (April 7).
The 2019 ACC Championships will be hosted by Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., April 24-28.
The broadcast selections for the Virginia women’s lacrosse team will be released and posted to once they are determined by the Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners. Starting times should be considered tentative and subject to change based on the broadcast selections. 
Last season, Virginia defeated Stanford 12-3 in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Championships, before falling to eventual champions James Madison in the second round as one of the final 16 teams.
Team Highlights
Virginia returns eight starters from last season, including All-American Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.), All-Region midfielder Maggie Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) and attacker Avery Shoemaker (Wyndmoor, Pa.) and All-ACC defenders Kaitlin Luzik (Alexandria, Va.) and Sophie Alecce (Baltimore, Md.). Mueller led the Cavaliers 74 points (59 goals, 15 assists). Jackson matched a UVA single-season record with 97 draw controls and ranks third all-time with 207 career draw controls.

Women’s lacrosse reserved season tickets in the blue chairback seats are $45. Women’s lacrosse general admission season tickets are $20, $15 for UVA faculty and staff. General admission seating for women’s lacrosse is available in the grandstand bleacher seats and on the grass hillside.
Fans may renew their 2019 reserved season tickets online by logging into their individual ticket account at The renewal ordering deadline is Monday, Jan. 7. Fans may purchase tickets online at or through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for in-person or telephone purchases. Single-game men’s and women’s lacrosse tickets are available in advance of the game through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office beginning Jan. 18.
