CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The No. 9 Virginia women’s squash team (16-6) concluded the regular season on Sunday (Feb. 10) with a 9-0 sweep against Johns Hopkins (1-7) at the Virginia Home Round Robin at the McArthur Squash Center.
 
Virginia opened the day with junior Elle Carroll (New York, N.Y.) capturing an 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 win in position five. Junior Isabelle Ezratty (Greenwich, Conn.) followed with an 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 victory in position seven against Charlotte Davison as senior Candace Craig (Crozet, Va.) captured the team’s third point after defeating Danmin Lui 11-1, 11-3, 11-2 in position nine.
 
In position three, junior Sarah Doss (Richmond, Va.) recorded an 11-2, 11-0, 11-2 score against Manavi Mongia, while sophomore Giovanna Veiga de Almeida (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) clinched the match at position four, defeating Anna Sargeantson 11-2, 11-1, 11-1.
 
Junior Lois Lo (Hong Kong) and senior Madeleine Mayhew (New York, N.Y.) added wins in positions eight and six, respectively. Lo topped Audrey Collins 11-5, 11-1, 11-3, while Mayhew defeated Nora Jandhyala 11-1, 11-2, 11-3.
 
Freshman Emma Jinks (Stratford, Canada) won 11-0, 11-3, 11-1 against Sarah Abuldullah in position one as freshman Mandy Haywood (Christ Church, Barbados) concluded the match with an 11-3, 11-4, 11-4 win against Charlotte Kim in position two.
 
The Cavaliers will await seeding for the CSA Women’s Team Championships (Feb. 22-24) in Hartford, Conn.
