CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior attacker Avery Shoemaker (Wyndmoor, Pa.) was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, announced on Tuesday (March 26).
 
Shoemaker averaged 3.50 goals per game and 5.00 points per game to help lead No. 7 Virginia to two wins over ranked opponents last week. Shoemaker had a game-high six points on five goals, including the game-winner, and one assist in the win at then-No. 7 James Madison. She was 5-for-6 in shots on goal and went 3-for-3 on free positions at JMU.
 
Shoemaker then had four points, scoring two goals with two assists in the win over then-No. 13 Duke. She scored a goal and had one assist in UVA’s 10-1 run to start the game. Shoemaker also had a draw control in the win.
 
Virginia will be on the road this week at No. 1 Boston College on Saturday, March 30 at noon in Newton, Mass.
