CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Virginia women’s lacrosse team (9-3, 1-3 ACC) travels to face No. 1 Boston College (11-0, 2-0 ACC) on Saturday, March 30 at noon at Newton Campus Lacrosse & Soccer Field in Newton, Mass.

CAVALIER TIDBITS

  • The Cavaliers are 5-3 in games against ranked opponents this season, with wins over No. 13 Navy, No. 9 Princeton, No. 10 Loyola, No. 7 JMU and No. 13 Duke. Virginia has won three of its last four games against ranked opponents.
  • Senior Avery Shoemaker (Wyndmoor, Pa.) earned IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring seven goals and three assists in UVA’s wins over then-No. 7 JMU and then-No. 13 Duke last week.
  • Freshman Lillie Kloak (Ridgewood, N.J.) has five hat tricks, recording back-to-back hat tricks against JMU and Duke last week.
  • Junior Nora Bowen (Lovettsville, Va.) has scored a goal in the last four games, including a hat trick at JMU.
  • Sophomore Ashlyn McGovern (Phoenix, Md.) had five goals in UVA’s two games last week.
  • Junior goalkeeper Charlie Campbell (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) leads the ACC in saves (104) and saves per game (8.67). Campbell had a career-high 15 saves at JMU.

 
VIRGINIA vs. BOSTON COLLEGE

  • UVA and Boston College are meeting for the 19th time in the series that dates back to 1989.
  • Virginia has a 14-4 lead in the all-time series, winning the first nine games.
  • The teams are 3-3 in games played at BC.
  • The Eagles have won the last two meetings, including a 15-12 win in 2018 in Charlottesville.
