UVA Wins Four Races at Pac-12 Invite
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – The No. 7 Virginia rowing team posted four wins in eight races during day one action at the Pac-12 Invite Saturday (March 30) in Redwood Shores, Calif.
The Cavaliers split four races against top-ranked Cal during morning racing. Virginia topped the Golden Bears in the Varsity Four (7:14.3-7:25.8) and Second Varsity Four (7:19.2-7:21.4). Cal defeated UVA in the Varsity Eight (6:17.7-6:32.8)and Second Varsity Eight (6:25.9-6:34.2).
In Saturday afternoon racing, UVA defeated No. 11 USC in the Second Varsity Eight (6:41.8-6:48.5) and Varsity Four (7:27.5-7:33.6). USC defeated Virginia in the Varsity Eight (6:32.17-6:35.56) and Stanford edged the Cavaliers in the Second Varsity Four (7:29.2-7:30.5).
The Cavaliers will close out the two-day regatta against No. 3 Stanford on Sunday (March 31) at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Cardinal placed fourth nationally last season.
