No. 10 Virginia Takes Three Races At Big 10 - ACC Duals
2019 Big 10 – ACC Duals Results
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The No. 10 Virginia rowing team won three races against No. 7 Ohio State on Saturday (April 6) closing the day with several strong performances at the Big 10 – ACC Duals. The Cavaliers faced No. 6 Michigan and the Buckeyes in the regatta held at Lake Monticello.
Also competing in the regatta were No. 17 Syracuse and Duke. Both teams also competed against the Wolverine and Buckeyes, but did not face the Cavaliers.
“It was very competitive racing today,” said Virginia head coach Kevin Sauer. “Thanks to Michigan, Ohio State, Duke and Syracuse for coming to compete today.”
Virginia topped Ohio State in Varsity Four (7:27.5 – 7:31.6), Second Varsity Eight (6:39.8 – 6:45.0) and Second Varsity Four (7:29.2 – 7:52.2). The Buckeyes claimed two races on the day, Varsity Eight (6:26.9 – 6:31.5) and Third Varsity Eight (6:48.6 – 6:54.0, 7:09.2). Virginia had two boats in the Third Varsity Eight.
Sixth-ranked Michigan swept the seven races with the Cavaliers.
Virginia will return to action at the Clemson Invite on April 19-20.
