Sunset, S.C. – The No. 17 Virginia women’s golf team remained in 12th-place after Monday’s second round of play at the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, S.C. The Cavaliers shot 1-over 289 for a two-day total of 5-over 581. Vanderbilt leads the field at 21-under 555.
 
A trio of Cavaliers shot even par 72 to post the team’s best rounds. That group included sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.), freshman Riley Smyth (Cary, N.C.) and senior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas).
 
Lillie dropped back to eighth place at 4-under 140 while Smyth is 26th at even par 144 and Patrick is 51st at 3-over 147.  Senior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) is in 69th place at 6-over 150 and junior Julia Ford is 94th at 159.
 
UVA is playing without senior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), who finished play at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Saturday.
 
UVA is paired with UNC Wilmington and Michigan State for Tuesday’s final round. They tee off from the 10th tee starting at 9:39 a.m. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
