CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia’s Second Varsity Eight earned its second Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week honor Tuesday (April 30) after winning a pair of races at the Longhorn Invite last weekend on Walter E. Long Lake in Austin, Texas.
 
On Saturday (April 27), the Cavaliers’ Second Varsity Eight recorded a time of 6:33.059 to defeat Texas, Indiana and Iowa in the finals. UVA added a time of 6:38.700 to defeat Oklahoma, Oregon State and Iowa in the heats. The 2-0 record helped Virginia to a second-place finish behind No. 4 Texas at the invite.
 
Members of UVA’s Second Varsity Four included coxswain Colette Glass (Tampa, Fla.), Star Davidson (Canterbury, New Zealand), Isabella Strickler (Grosse Pointe, Mich.), Toni Wiersma (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Georgia Gray (Seattle, Wash.), Tessa Otting (Evanston, Ill.), Sophie Kershner (Palmyra, Va.), Lizzie Trull (Wellesley, Mass.) and bow Carrie Warner (East London, South Africa).
 
The No. 10 Cavaliers return to action at the ACC Rowing Championships in Clemson, S.C. on Friday-Saturday, May 17-18.
