CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball’s incoming recruiting class earned high honorable mention from PrepVolleyball.com in its 2019 class rankings.
 
The mention places the Cavaliers’ 2019 class among the top 100 in the nation. Virginia’s class is comprised of five freshmen, outside hitters Jayna Francis (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Simone Dominique (Sherman Oaks, Calif.), middle blocker Mattison Matthews (Charleston, S.C.), setter Maddie Boylston (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and libero Josi Williams (Leesburg, Va.). All five will join the Cavaliers for the fall season.
 
Dominique was an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and PrepVolleyball Senior Ace. Fellow outside hitter Francis earned 2018 Tidewater Region Player of the Year and also earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and a PrepVolleyball Senior Ace Honorable Mention.
 
In the middle, Matthews was a three-time SCISA 3A Player of the Year and five-time All-State honoree. Also hailing from the Palmetto State, Boylston set her Wando High squad to a 4A state title and three runner-up finishes. She also earned All-State honors and an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.
 
The incoming class will join a Virginia roster including five seniors, four juniors and three sophomores for the 2019 season.
