Charlottesville, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today Virginia senior men’s golfer Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) has been named to the 2019 All-ACC team. It marks the second consecutive year he has received the honor. He automatically received the accolade last year by virtue of winning the ACC individual championship.

Walsh was one of three at-large players selected to the team by the conference’s coaches.

The All-ACC Team, Player and Freshman of the Year were decided by a combination of the Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin rankings in conjunction with a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches, while Coach of the Year was selected by a vote of the coaches.

Walsh leads the Cavaliers this year with a 70.67 stroke average. He has five top-10 finishes in 11 tournament appearances this year and won Toledo’s Inverness Intercollegiate last fall.

Walsh and the Cavaliers open play at the NCAA Regional at Stanford, Calif., on Monday, May 13.
