CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball unveiled its 2019 slate on Wednesday (May 29), which includes 16 home matches in Memorial Gymnasium. Admission to all home UVA matches is free.
 
Virginia starts the season with the Cavalier Classic on Aug. 30-31. The Cavaliers will welcome Furman, Loyola (Md.) and Coastal Carolina on opening weekend. UVA will also host the Jefferson Cup (Sept. 20-21) with Lehigh, Elon and UNC Greensboro visiting Charlottesville to close non-conference action.
 
The Cavaliers will travel to Rutgers on Sept. 6-7 to face Princeton, Towson and the host Scarlet Knights. The following week, Virginia makes a trip to Ohio to face the Bobcats, UConn and College of Charleston.
 
ACC action begins Sept. 25 when the Cavaliers host defending conference champion Pittsburgh. Virginia will play home-and-home league series against Boston College, Clemson, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
 
In addition, the Cavaliers host NC State, North Carolina, Duke and Georgia Tech at Mem Gym in 2019. The road slate also includes trips to Florida State, Miami, Syracuse, Louisville and Notre Dame.
 
The broadcast selections for Virginia volleyball, including matches that will be broadcast on the new ACC Network, will be released and posted to VirginiaSports.com once they are determined by the Atlantic Coast Conference and ESPN. Starting times for matches should be considered tentative and subject to change based on the broadcast selections.

BLUE & ORANGE SCRIMMAGE
Fans can get their first glimpse of the Cavaliers at Virginia’s Blue & Orange scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 24. First serve in the intrasquad match is set for 2 p.m. at Mem Gym. Admission to the Blue & Orange scrimmage is free.
