ESPN announced today (June 12) programming information for ACC Network (ACCN) coverage of Virginia field hockey with three games selected to be televised on the linear network.

The Cavaliers’ game at Syracuse on Sept. 20 as well as home games against Duke (Oct. 18) and Liberty (Oct. 28) will be televised. ACCN will also televise the quarterfinals, semifinals and final of the ACC Field Hockey Championship, being held Nov. 7-10 at Boston College.

Additional coverage for matches on the ACC Network Extra (ACCNE) online digital platform will be announced at a later date.

ACC Network the new, 24/7 national platform launching on August 22, 2019, will elevate the ACC’s field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball programs with unprecedented national television coverage this fall.  ACCN will exclusively televise 62 field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball games in its debut year – representing a 90 percent increase in the number of ACC women’s events available on an ESPN linear network over last year and the most live, national coverage of ACC women’s fall sports ever.

Keeper Cam Technology
Technology and innovation will be at the forefront of ACCN’s coverage of women’s soccer as telecasts will feature ESPN’s exclusive “Keeper Cam” goal post camera system currently used on ESPN’s Major League Soccer productions. The technology utilizes cameras mounted inside the goal posts at both the four-inch and two-and one-half inch heights to provide unique views of the area in front of the goal, as well as straight down the goal line. The ACC will be the first and only collegiate conference to deploy the camera system.
