CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball will open Atlantic Coast Conference play on the ACC Network (ACCN) when the Cavaliers host defending champion Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Sept. 25 inside Memorial Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the first conference match to appear on the new network.
 
Virginia will announce additional coverage for its fall Olympic sports on the ACC Network Extra (ACCNE) online digital platform at a later date.
 
ACC Network the new, 24/7 national platform launching on August 22, 2019, will elevate the ACC’s field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball programs with unprecedented national television coverage this fall.  ACCN will exclusively televise 62 field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball games in its debut year – representing a 90 percent increase in the number of ACC women’s events available on an ESPN linear network over last year and the most live, national coverage of ACC women’s fall sports ever.
 
It was previously announced that three Cavalier football games will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Virginia’s season-opening game, Aug. 31 at Pitt, will start at 7:30 p.m. UVA’s first home of the season, Fri., Sept. 6 vs. William & Mary will kick at 8 p.m., while the Cavaliers’ home game on Sept. 14 against Florida State will start at 7:30 p.m.
 
Dedicated Windows
Volleyball and women’s soccer will each have a dedicated night of live programming each week with volleyball airing on Wednesdays, and women’s soccer Thursdays throughout the regular season, with additional matches on Sundays. ACC field hockey games will be showcased on Fridays and Sundays throughout the fall. ACCN will also televise the quarterfinals, semifinals and final of the ACC Field Hockey Championship, as well as the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the ACC Women’s Soccer Championship.

Owned and operated by ESPN in partnership with the Atlantic Coast ConferenceACC Network  is a new 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports set to launch August 22, 2019.
