Charlottesville, Va. – A trip to Georgia for the 31st annual Carpet Capital Collegiate kicks of the 2019 fall campaign for the UVA men’s golf team. The Cavaliers will be one of 15 teams in the field at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga. The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs Friday through Sunday at the par 72, 7,180-yard course
 
UVA won the tournament in 2016, shooting 31-under 833. Virginia’s 54-hole total broke the event’s scoring record by eight shots. Last year the Cavaliers were seventh in the 15-team field
 
This year’s 15-team field includes Tennessee, Clemson, South Florida, Kennesaw State, Georgia Tech, North Florida, Colorado State, San Francisco, Charlotte, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, East Tennessee State and Chattanooga.
 
Virginia is paired with San Francisco and East Tennessee State for the opening round and will start play at 9:24 a.m. from the 10th tee.
 
UVA’s season-opening lineup features senior Christopher White (Garden City, N.Y.), freshman Pietro Bovari (Milano, Italy), sophomore David Morgan (Naples, Fla.), sophomore Jack Montague (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) and senior Andrew Orischak. White and Bovari will be making their collegiate debuts. White competed for the UVA club golf team the past three years while Bovari is a first-year at the University.
