Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia men’s golf team tees it up this weekend at SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas. This is UVA’s second tournament of the fall. The 54-hole event runs through Tuesday at the par-71, 7,486-yard Trinity Forest Golf Club, which became the home for Mustangs’ golf in 2017.

The 17-team field includes Abilene Christian, Arizona State, Ball State, College of Charleston, Denver, Houston, Kansas State, Little Rock, Marquette, Mississippi State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, UC Davis and UTSA. Florida won the inaugural tournament in 2017 and Baylor claimed top honors last season.
 
Play will get underway at 8 a.m. CT each day. UVA is paired with Mississippi State and North Texas during the opening round. Those teams tee off at 8 a.m. Sunday from the first tee.
 
UVA’s lineup will feature sophomore Sam Jung (Centreville, Va.), sophomore Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.), sophomore Jack Montague (Manakin-Sabot, Va.), sophomore David Morgan (Naples, Fla.) and senior Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.). The tournament will mark Jung’s first at UVA after transferring from George Mason last summer.
