Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia women’s golf team plays its second event of the fall on Monday when the Cavaliers compete in the two-day Windy City Collegiate Championship hosted by Northwestern at Glen View Club in Golf, Ill. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by a single round on Tuesday.
The 15-team field includes Arizona, Arizona State, Augusta State, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, USC and Vanderbilt.
Virginia’s lineup features freshman Celeste Valinho (Jacksonville, Fla.), junior Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.), sophomore Riley Smyth (Cary, N.C.), freshman Virginia Bossi (Como, Italy) and sophomore Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, N.C.). The Cavaliers will tee off starting at 9 a.m. CT from the first hole while paired with Ohio State and Arizona.
Wotnosky led Virginia during the team’s season-opening performance at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. She finished 19th overall in her collegiate debut. Bossi was the Hoos’ second finisher, placing 32nd in her initial college competition.
