Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia men’s golf team is back on the links the weekend with a trip to Jonesborough, Tenn., for the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The event takes place at Blackthorn Club at The Ridge and runs Friday through Sunday.
 
Rounds begin at 8:30 a.m. with teams going off from the No. 1 tee and No. 10 tees.
 
The field for this year’s tournament includes Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, East Carolina, Furman, Louisville, Missouri, NC State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, UNC Wilmington, VCU, Villanova and Virginia Tech.
 
Virginia’s lineup will feature senior Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.), junior WeiWei Gao (Cebu, Philippines) and sophomores David Morgan (Naples, Fla.) and Jack Montague (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) and Sam Jung (Centreville, Va.). Senior Christopher White (Garden City, N.Y.) will compete as an individual.
 
The Cavaliers will tee off Friday starting at 8:30 a.m. from the 10th tee and will be paired with VCU and Virginia Tech.
 
Virginia won the 2016 tournament, setting the event’s scoring record at 35-under 829. The Cavaliers also won the tournament in 2013 and 2010. East Tennessee State is the defending champion. Last year the Cavaliers finished 11th at the event.
