Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia men’s golf team wraps up its fall season this weekend at the 14th annual Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta. The 54-hole event begins on Friday, Oct. 18, and continues with round two Saturday morning and concludes with the final round Sunday. The tournament will take place on the Lakeside Course (par 72, 7,017 yards).
 
For the first 10 years of its existence, the tournament was called the United States Collegiate Championship.
 
The field for this year’s tournament, hosted by Georgia Tech, includes Clemson, Duke, East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pepperdine, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, TCU, UCLA, USC and Wake Forest.
 
Virginia’s lineup will include senior Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.), juniors Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.) and WeiWei Gao (Cebu, Philippines) and sophomores David Morgan (Naples, Fla.) and Jack Montague (Manakin-Sabot, Va.).
 
The Cavaliers will tee off Friday from the first tee starting at 9 a.m. UVA will be paired with TCU and Tennessee during the opening round.
 
Last season UVA finished seventh in the 14-team field which was won by USC. Senior Thomas Walsh placed 10th, shooting 4-under 212.
