CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.  – Virginia men’s lacrosse player Kyle Kology was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference for games played through February 16.

Kology (Chatham, N.J.) was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. Against No. 18 Lehigh, Kology picked up seven ground balls and caused five turnovers, both career highs. He spearheaded a defensive effort that held the Mountain Hawks’ potent offense to single-digit goals as UVA won, 12-8.

Kology is the second Cavalier in a row to earn ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Last week goalie Alex Rode picked up his first career weekly accolade from the ACC.

Virginia returns to action on Sat., Feb. 22 against Princeton comes to Klöckner Stadium. Faceoff is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
