CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.) was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading Virginia women’s lacrosse to victories over No. 20 Stanford and California, the league office announced on Tuesday.
 
Mueller and Boston College’s Charlotte North shared the weekly honor this week.
 
Mueller matched her career-high with six goals to lead the Cavaliers in their 12-11 win at then-No. 20 Stanford on Friday. Mueller also picked up a career-best 11 ground balls, ranking fifth all-time in a single game at UVA. The midfielder scored three-straight goals in the first half. She also bookended a 5-0 run that gave Virginia a 10-9 lead. She then scored the tying goal to make it 11-11 before UVA scored the game-winner.
 
Against Cal, Mueller scored the first goal of the game as UVA never trailed. She finished with three goals and one assist to tie for a team-high four points. She added three draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
 
Virginia is on the road on Saturday, Feb. 21, at No. 9 Princeton at 1 p.m. at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.
