Lynchburg, Va. – Virginia senior Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) used a strong finishing round to run away from the field and win the open division flight at the 2020 Donna Andrews Invitational at Boonsboro Country Club in Lynchburg.
Lillie shot 5-under 67 during Tuesday’s final round to take medalist honors at 7-under 209. She bettered runner-up Becca DiNunzio of Virginia Tech by six shots for the victory. Former Cavalier Lauren Greenlief tied for eighth at 4-over 220 while UVA junior Sky Sload tied for 13th place at 222.
An All-ACC performer in 2019, Lillie posted an eagle on her third hole and finished her round with birdies on 12, 16 and 18 to secure the victory.
Lillie shot 1-over 73 during Sunday’s opening round and posted a 3-under 69 on Monday. This year’s event marked just the second time the tournament has been held. The amateur field includes top junior, collegiate, mid-am and senior players from all age groups.
