CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 10 Virginia women’s soccer team (3-1-1, 1-1-1 ACC) continues a two-match homestand against the Miami Hurricanes (0-4-0, 0-3-0 ACC) in a 3 p.m. contest at Klöckner Stadium.
Due to health and safety considerations in addition to the current guidelines established for sports venues by the Commonwealth of Virginia, attendance at UVA home competitions is limited to family of student-athletes and each team’s coaching staff until further notice. There is no public admission to these events and all tailgating in University parking lots is prohibited.
• The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with the Hurricanes 12-2-1 and are 8-1-0 at Klöckner Stadium. UVA has won 9 of the last 10 matches with Miami – the only loss a 2-1 decision in 2016.
• The Cavaliers are ranked No.10 in the latest edition of the United Soccer Coaches poll and are coming off a 2-1 victory over No. 14 Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
• Three current UVA players have scored against the Hurricanes with Taryn Torres hitting the game-winner in 2017 and Diana Ordoñez and Alexa Spaanstra scoring in last year’s meeting. Rebecca Jarrett assisted on both Ordoñez goals last year in Coral Gables.
• Junior defender Claire Constant was named ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week this week after hitting the golden goal at Virginia Tech and playing the full time at center back in the shutout of the Hokies.
