Greensboro, N.C. – Virginia sophomore golfer Pietro Bovari (Milano, Italy) may not have any fall collegiate tournaments to compete in, but that did not stop him from picking up an impressive victory this weekend. Bovari took medalist honors at the Grandover Resort Men’s Griffin Amateur in Greensboro, N.C. He posted rounds of 69, 67 and 72 for a three-day total of 8-under 208.

Bovari finished four shots ahead of UNCG’s Nick Lyerly in a 122-player field that was primarily composed of collegiate players.

His second round score of 5-under 67 was the best 18-hole total during the tournament. He was one of just two players in the field to post two rounds under par.
