One of the goals of the UVA Track and Field program is to celebrate our program’s historic past while writing new stories of our own. With that in mind, we are proud to present this video that looks back at the 2010 Penn Relays Championship of America 4×800 race. That day, Alex Bowman, Lance Roller, Steve Finley and Robby Andrews came together for a magical performance that electrified a capacity crowd at Franklin Field.

You’ll hear them relive and share their stories from the race, their experiences leading up to it and how it impacted their careers. The bond between them is endearing and their perspective is truly unique. They shine a light on some of UVA’s top middle-distance performers from a decade ago.

Today, we could not be more excited about our new group of 800-meter athletes. Over the past few weeks, graduate transfer Matthew JeanPierre has run our fastest 600 meter in years, freshman Keara Seasholtz and sophomore Alahna Sabbakhan both broke the 600-meter school record, freshmen Conor Murphy and Liam Bellamy debuted with impressive times of 1:49 and 1:51, respectively, and graduate transfer Michaela Meyer is training hard to improve on her 2:03 PB.

The past was magnificent and the future is very bright for UVA. Enjoy the video.
