CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete at the 2021 ACC Indoor Championships at the Clemson Indoor Track Complex in Clemson, S.C. from Feb. 25-27. A total of 15 men and 20 women will represent UVA at the competition.

Multi events will open competition on Thursday (Feb. 25) at 9:30 a.m. with field events getting underway at 1 p.m. and the track competition starts at 5 p.m. Friday’s schedule (Feb. 26) also features a 9:30 a.m. start for the multi events, followed by field competition at 11 a.m. and track races at 1:45 p.m. Saturday’s (Feb. 27) final day schedule has the field competitors starting at 11 a.m. following by the track student-athletes at noon.

National Leaders
• Heading into the ACC Championships, Virginia has a pair of performances that rank in the top-10 nationally for this season:
• Owayne Owens opened the season with a career-best triple jump mark of 16.35m (53’7.75”), which currently ranks fourth in the NCAA.
• Halle Hazzard’s time of 7.26 from the Tiger Paw Invitational ranks ninth.

Last Year
• Virginia saw five student-athletes will ACC Indoor titles in 2020 at Notre Dame.
• Derek Pekar became the second freshman to win the heptathlon in ACC history with a UVA freshman record of 5,362 points.
• Sam Young set a UVA record in the pole vault (5.38m / 17’-7.75”) to give UVA its first champion in the event since 1958
• Brenton Foster cleared 2.17m (7’-1.5”) grabbed UVA’s first high jump title since 1990.
• Jada Seaman set the UVA record while winning the long jump (6.46m / 21’-2.5”) and Khyasia Caldwell was the runner-up (6.29m / 20’-7.75”)
• Jordan Scott won the triple jump (16.42m / 53’-10.5”) for the third time during his UVA career and was named the ACC Field Performer of the Meet. He was also fifth in the long jump (7.56m / 24’-9.75”).
• Alex Still earned second-team All-ACC honors with a sixth-place finish in the pentathlon (3,657 points).
•First-year Elby Omonundro was named second-team All-ACC for placing fourth in the heptathlon.
• Owayne Owens took runner-up honors in the triple jump (16.25m / 53’-3.75”)
• AJ Ernst was second in the mile (4:02.39).
• In the 400 meters, Brandon Outlaw set the UVA record (46.58) to place fourth.
• Jordan Willis finished fifth in the 400m with a personal best time of 46.61.
• Rohann Asfaw had a fourth-place showing in the 3000m (8:07.39).
• Andrenette Knight (53.70) and Anna Jefferson (54.01) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 400 meters
• Jefferson was also sixth in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 23.92.
