CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore defender Talia Staude (Atlanta, Ga.) has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Wednesday (March 3).

Staude helped the Cavaliers (9-3-1) open the spring season with a 2-0 victory over George Mason on Sunday. In that game, the defender helped anchor a back line that limited the Patriots to one shot on the afternoon. She also assisted on the game’s second goal when she connected with Rebecca Jarrett (Washington Township, N.J.) in the 81st minute.
